Dear Colleagues,

I am glad and honored to be heading the Lebanese Pulmonary Society for the next two years (2019-2021) and look forward to your solidarity and support to complete what my predecessors started in serving and developing our Society.
Our Lebanese Pulmonary Society Projects for 2019-2021 will focus on the following main objectives:

*Increase Empowerment and Recognition of LPS.
*Activate and develop our partnership with International Societies
*Implement national disease Registry containing the major severe diseases: IPF, Pulmonary hypertension, severe Asthma and COPD.

• Update the LPS platform and social media.
  *Fellows in Pulmonology, Master Degree and PHD students involved in respiratory research can be active member in our society, without voting.
• Extend participation to other respiratory health professionals: Nurses/ Inhalotherapists/physiotherapists, with the same privilege of our fellows with no voting or right to leadership position.
• Continue with all work done on CME and develop it: Local workshops, webinar with ERS, online courses. Awards develop self-assessment courses.
• Increase awareness of air Pollution and its impact on lung Health. It is the first time that regulatory authorities recognize that air pollution means respiratory medical issues.
• Develop patient focused activities and relations with patients and public health
• Push the younger members of the society and put them on the front line.

The above goals when achieved, will improve the status of the LPS and its members on the National and International levels. But that will necessitate the combined effort and dedication of each and everyone one of us.

وقوفي اليوم أمامكم كرئيسة للجمعية اللبنانية للأمراض الصدرية هو نتيجة للثقة الكبيرة التي أوليتموني اياها منذ حوالي السنتين عندما اخترتموني نائبا لرئيس الجمعية ولذالك أشكركم
من خلال تجربتي مع الرئيس د. صلاح زين الدين والتي اختبرت من خلالها مراحل هامة ومفصلية في مسيرة الجمعية، حيث وجدت فيه وفي أعضاء المجلس التنفيذي تفانيا وإصراراً وغيرة على أداء ومستقبل جمعيتنا. وأنني أسعى خلال فترة رئاستي ان أتابع المسيرة معكم جميعاً، من أجل نشر أهداف جمعيتنا بين أطياف المجتمع اللبناني كافة، ومن اجل تحقيق ما نصبو اليه معاً، حيث سأكون بحاجة الى مؤازرتكم وتعاونكم
أودعكم لمحة عن النشاطات المرتقبة خلال ولاية الهيئة الإدارية 2019-2021
جعل الجمعية اللبنانية للأمراض الصدرية المرجع الأول للهيئات الرسمية والإجتماعية في جميع مجالات تلوث الهواء، وانعكاساته على صحة الرئة
تأسيس قاعدة بيانات وطنية رقمية للأمراض الصدرية المستعصية، حيث آمل أن تكونوا في جهوزية تامة من أجل المشاركة في تنفيذها
العمل على تطوير تعاوننا مع الجمعيات الأقليمية والأوروبية والدولية للأمراض الصدرية ومنها SPLF EFP,AFLP,ERS.
تشجيع الأعضاء في كافة المناطق على المشاركة الفعالة في تحقيق الأهداف المعلنة أعلاه وطرح أية أهداف جديدة يرون أنها قد تكون مفيدة لتطوير الجمعية وزيادة فاعليتها على الصعيدين المحلي والإقليمي والدولي
