The electorate of the Lebanese Pulmonary Society has held its first meeting on Monday, May 27th, 2013 at 6 p.m. in the Lebanese Order of Physicians, Walid Ben Talal Hall.
Quorum not achieved at the first meeting regarding the number of members belonging to the Society 179 .
To achieve a quorum and gain electoral process legitimacy half number of voters plus one should be reached.
The electorate held the 2nd session one hour later (7 p.m) on the same day with 62 voters.
Before voting operation, the LPS Secretary Dr. Mustapha Itani presented his administrative report and spoke about the progress made in all fields during 2012-2013.
A financial report for 2011 was introduced by LPS treasurer Dr. Mireille sfeir .
Dr. Sfeir  obtained a financial Clearance.
The list of candidates for the position of Vice President contained Mustafa Itani and Carole Youakim.
On the list of membership Board contained Ahmad Hosari – Hilmi Darwiche – Nicolas Maakaron – Salah Zineddine – Jamal Omeiss – Mireille Sfeir & Walid Alaeddine.
The electoral process has passed with absolute transparency and was attended by the Assistant of Scientific Committee Miss Rita Khoury and the representative of Lebanese Order of Physicians Dr. Jean Mouawad .
Carole Youakim has won the position of Vice President with 42 votes.
Voting Board membership resulted as following: Nicolas Macaron with 51 votes – Walid Alaeddine with 49 votes Mireille Sfeir with 48 votes- Salah Zineddine with 47 votes – Jamal Omeiss with 39 votes.
Presidency position moved automatically to Vice President-elect Dr. Myrna Waked.
New Board Principality begins May 27th, 2013 to May 27th, 2015.
Administrative tasks to be distributed at the first meetings of the executive Board.

انتخابات الجمعية اللبنانية للأمراض الصدرية

عقدت الهيئة العامة للجمعية اللبنانية للأمراض الصدرية الجلسة الأولى يوم الإثنين الواقع في 27 أيار 2013 الساعة 6 مساءً في نقابة أطباء لبنان، قاعة الأمير وليد بن طلال، لم يكتمل النصاب في الجلسة الأولى مع الاشارة الى أن عدد أعضاء المنتمين إلى الجمعية 179 وعليه يجب أن يكون عدد الناخبين نصف زائد واحد ليكتمل النصاب وتكتسب العملية الانتخابية شرعيتها. فعادت الهيئة الناخبة الى الانعقاد بعد ساعة في اليوم عينه بمن حضر وكان عدد المشاركين 62 ناخباً. وقبل البدء بعملية التصويت قدم أمين سرّ الجمعية دكتور مصطفى عيتاني تقريره الاداري لاحظاً التقدّم الذي أحرزته الجمعية في كل المجالات خلال 2012-2013
قدّمت امينة الصندوق الدكتورة ميراي صفير تقريراً مالياً عن العام 2011 فحصلت على براء ذمّة مالية
وكان على لائحة المرشحين لمنصب نائب رئيس كل من الزميلين مصطفى عيتاني وكارول يواكيم
أمّا على لائحة العضوية فترشّح كل من الزملاء: أحمد حصري – حلمي درويش- نقولا معكرون- صلاح زين الدين- جمال عميص – ميراي صفير ووليد علاء الدين
تمّت العملية الانتخابية بشفافية مطلقة وحضر عن النقابة كل من سكرتيرة الجمعية العلمية الآنسة ريتا خوري والدكتور جان معوّض مندوب نقابة الأطباء
وقد فاز بمنصب نائب رئيس : الزميلة كارول يواكيم  42 صوتاً
وبعضوية الهيئة: الزملاء نقولا معكرون 51 صوتاً- وليد علاء الدين 49 صوتاً ميراي صفير 48 صوتاً صلاح زين الدين 47 صوتاً- جمال عميص 39 صوتاً
مع الاشارة إلى أن منصب الرئيس ينتقل حكماً إلى نائب الرئيس المنتخب دكتورة ميرنا واكد
تبدأ ولاية الهيئة الجديدة من 27 أيار 2013 ولغاية 27 أيار 2015
